Grade Leaders

Grade leaders are responsible for meeting once a week to discuss curriculum, grade-level and school-wide updates across the grade and school. Grade leaders facilitate weekly grade meetings and are the point people for their grade.

Thinking Maps Trainer of Teachers

8 Thinking Maps Trainer of Teachers

We have 8 Thinking Maps Trainers of Teachers (TOTs) across the grades that received 36 hours of intensive training on Thinking Maps. These teachers support the staff with implementing Thinking Maps across all content areas. They also participate in multiple learning walks across the year to follow-up on our progress with the implementation and roll-out across the school.

10 Thinking Map Writing Trainers

10 of our teachers received 48 hours of intensive writing training with the program Write from the Beginning and Beyond. These teachers support the staff with incorporating Thinking Maps within our writing curriculum.

Model Teachers

3 of our teachers are part of the Learning Partners Program. The Learning Partners Program is designed to promote interschool collaborative learning and leverage the rich reservoir of expertise that already resides within our school communities to improve the educational experience for all New York City students. As a  Learning Partner school they participate in a series of biweekly school team meetings, monthly intervisitations, and other related educational development activities. P.S. 201 is in a quad with 3 other schools from District 25.

Inter-School Visitations

Teachers at 201Q open their doors to share their best practices with other schools around the city. We have had the opportunity to host multiple Thinking Maps site visits to share our journey with Thinking Maps

Collaborative Walkthroughs

Teachers participate in multiple collaborative walkthroughs throughout the year. In the beginning of the year, grade leaders participated in an Instructional Systems & Bottom Lines walkthrough that ensured all team members are adhering to the guidelines set in place for all classrooms.
